MENARD VACUUM CONSOLIDATION

The Menard Vacuum Method is a patented technology that utilizes the isotropic atmospheric pressure to consolidate saturated sedimentary soils using the same principles as the classical preloading method.
The preload is applied by creating the Vacuum under a membrane laid on the surface of the soft soil instead of using classical surcharge by fill or sand..

MENARD VERTICAL DRAINS

Because the strength of a soil increases and its compressibility decreases with the decrease of water content, one of the most successful method to consolidate a soft saturated sedimentary soil is the vertical drains + preloading method.
Menard Vertical Cylindrical Drains are patented in South Korea.

CMC COLUMNS

Stone columns and CMC Columns are both inclusion methods. ( compacted gravel for stone columns and a compressible cement-based grout for CMC ).
The CMC method ( Controlled-Modulus Columns ) is a patented technology allowing to get rid of the limitations of the classical piling process : virtually no spoil ; length of columns is considerably reduced thanks to a revolutionary patented dimensionning concept ; shallow foundation of spread footings and slab on grades is possible avoiding expensive pile cap and stress-repartition beams.

MENARD DYNAMIC CONSOLIDATION

Dynamic Consolidation ( or Dynamic Compaction ) is an economical soil improvement method consisting in transmitting high energy shockwaves to a granular soil to improve its characteristics.
Practically, soil is compacted by mean of impacts of a pounder ( 15 to 100 tons ) dropped from heavy weight cranes ( 10 to 40m ) on the surface in a pre-designed grid pattern.

MENARD DYNAMIC REPLACEMENT

Menard Dynamic Replacement method has been developed to cope with the limitations of the Dynamic Compaction method which mainly covers granular type soils ( sand, ballast, rockfill ) and landfills.
Improvement of the mechanical properties of a sedimentary soil is achieved by repetition of high energy impacts in a grid pattern.
The prints are filled with a granular material which is pushed and compacted by the repetition of impacts to create large diameter columns of highly compacted granular material.

ACTIVE CONFINEMENT TECHNOLOGY

Active Confinement Technology is a patented method which permits to confine pollution within a limited area as well as controlling and eventually reducing the pollutant content within this area in order to rehabilitate the site for safe further utilization and development ( industrial complexes, recreational landscaping... )

MENARD PRESSUREMETER TEST

Pressuremeter Test ( PMT ) developed by Mr Louis Menard in the 50's, is so far the most accurate testing method available for any kind of soils., It permits to get deformation properties ( for settlement calculation ) through a pressuremeter modulus as well as rupture or limit resistance ( for failure and bearing capacity calculation ) through a limit pressure with a single test
